Foster Youth Stamp Act Pending in US Senate

Senators John Kerry (D-MA) and Charles Grassley (R-IA) have introduced legislation to authorize a fundraising stamp to raise funds to improve outcomes for foster youth. Half of the funds would be designated for CAPTA programs that improve permanency outcomes through adoption, kinship care, or guardianship. The other half will go toward the State Court Improvement Program to improve handling of foster care and adoption cases.

Advocates can email their senators to ask that they join as co sponsors for S. 3231, the Families for Foster Youth Stamp Act. The bill adds no cost to the federal budget, and is a creative way to put more resources towards programs that support foster youth.
