October has been a whirlwind of fun and fundraising for all of us at GAL-20!
We are coming off the heels of the wildly successful Fort Myers Beach Pirate Festival and Inaugural Pirate Ball. Both swashbuckling events played host to the Guardian ad Litem Foundation and assisted in raising awareness about our mission throughout the Southwest Florida community.
FORT MYERS, FL (August 25, 2015)--The Guardian ad Litem Foundation: 20th Judicial Circuit, a non-profit agency advocating for locally abused and neglected children, has announced the selection of Roxanne Wendling as its new Foundation Administrator.
Florida's Guardian ad Litem program provides a voice for thousands of children through volunteers who serve as mentors and confidants, advocating for the safety and well-being of society's most vulnerable.
Estero's Stephanie Acorn is among these dedicated advocates. A retired financial analyst of indomitable spirit, she defines her purpose from day one on a case: "I am here for the child."
On April 29, 2015, the local publication Florida Weekly released an insightful and educational piece all about our volunteers, our mission and of course, the local children in need. Written by Roger Williams, the piece is made up by two stories.
“Children at Risk” highlights the contributions made by guardians assisting abandoned and abused children in the Southwest Florida community.
