Fall Fundraising for GAL-20
October has been a whirlwind of fun and fundraising for all of us at GAL-20!
We are coming off the heels of the wildly successful Fort Myers Beach Pirate Festival and Inaugural Pirate Ball. Both swashbuckling events played host to the Guardian ad Litem Foundation and assisted in raising awareness about our mission throughout the Southwest Florida community.
The Fort Myers Beach Pirate Festival played host to approximately 8000 privateers and landlubbers in Old San Carlos, on Fort Myers Beach. Guardian ad Litem worked alongside The Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce to ensure a $5 donation to the GAL program upon entry to the festival. Additional photo opportunities and items benefitting GAL were also available to guests inside the event
The Inaugural Pirate Ball, held on the evening of Oct.3, 2015 at Bootleggers Waterfront Barbeque was an evening of delicious food, musical fun and auction action. Pirate clans, GAL volunteers, Fort Myers Beach Chamber members and business groups all thoroughly enjoyed the evening of grog, grub and good.
Through community involvement and fun festivities and fundraisers GAL was represented within a numer of Fort Myers area publications and TV news programs. Please see the WINK news interview with our Foundation Administrator, Roxanne Wendling.
It has been a Fall to remember and as we enter the final months of 2015, we aim to continue gaining traction and support within the Southwest Florida community well into next year.
