FORT MYERS Beach, Fl. (January 14, 2013) – “Shoals Restaurant and Wine Bar and the Sandy Butler Market are holding a fundraiser for Southwest Florida’s Voices for Kids”, said Shoals Manager Jason Nelson.

The fundraiser will be held Friday, January 25, from 11am – 9 pm and 10% of all The Sandy Butler Market and Shoals restaurant sales will go towards Voices for Kids (a non-profit agency supporting Florida’s volunteers, who advocate for abused, neglected and abandoned children). The excitement will begin at 6 pm as local voices (local celebrity Gina Birch of Wink Fm™ and local musician Peter Kolter) meet at Shoals for Voices for Kids. Volunteers from Voices will add to the fun with a charity wine toss.

“We really appreciate what Shoals and the Community is doing for Voices for Kids, as the needs are tremendous!” said Darlene Ann Grossman, Executive Director of Voices for Kids of Southwest Florida.

Voices for Kids is a non profit organization whose mission is to support the abused, neglected and abandoned children in Southwest Florida by securing and training Guardian ad Litem volunteers who become the child’s “voice” in court, school and the community. And through the Kids Being Kids Program VFK provides those items which give children a sense of normalcy in life and help them “fit in” i.e. a warm, cozy bed, emergency/supplemental clothing, participation in sports, the arts and clubs, happier birthdays, academic tutoring, summer camp, etc.

“One of my favorite things to do in life is to share good food and wine with friends. The Sandy Butler Gourmet Market and Shoals Restaurant offer so many creative and affordable opportunities to do just that. And I get to support a local establishment! One of my other favorite things to do is “party with a purpose”, so I’m really excited for this event on the 25th as it benefits a great organization, Voices For Kids of Southwest Florida. What a perfect combination: live music, an extended happy hour, delicious food, a great location and a very worthwhile charity. This is the first event of the New Year that I’m really looking forward to attending.” replied Gina Birch of 96-9 WINK-FM

“As a musician, I’m really excited to have this opportunity to share my music with the supporters of Voices for Kids. I would like to take this time to thank everyone for coming out and lending their support to this worthy cause. Having grown up in Fort Myers, it is always refreshing to see local, family-owned businesses prosper and work with the local charities. Thanks for coming and enjoy the evening,” says Peter Kolter a University of Florida graduate and Fort Myers local musician.

“As far as New Years Resolutions go, this opportunity fits right in,” said marketing executive Jamie Nelson of The Sandy Butler Market and Shoals restaurant. “Our resolution and Fresh Life Promise is to do all we can locally.”

An addition to the local fare at the restaurant, the Sandy Butler Market ( offers Norman Love Chocolates, wines and champagnes as well as gift baskets. This is a great opportunity to get your Valentines gifts and give to a great cause.
