VOICE OF THE YEAR AWARD Recipient
Joe Catti, VOICE OF THE YEAR AWARD Recipient
September 20, 2012, Fort Myers, FL – It’s a tradition started three years ago. Voices for Kids, a nonprofit agency supporting Florida’s 20th Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program, has named this year’s recipient of its Voice of the Year award. The award is in recognition for exemplary leadership, advocacy and commitment to the most vulnerable, neglected and abandoned children in our community. This year’s honoree will be recognized at ‘Celebrate the Voices’, the nonprofit’s signature fundraising events in Lee and Collier counties scheduled for November 10 at the Royal Palm Yacht Club and November 17 at a Private Beach Club in Naples.
Joe Catti is this year’s recipient of the esteemed community award. “We are thrilled to honor Joe with the Voice of the Year community recognition award. The award aligns with our Voices for Kids’ mission to support and advocate for the children in our community. Joe is a living example of this. Over the years, I have witnessed the positive impact he has made on children and young adults in our community,”states Darlene Ann Grossman, VFK’s Executive Director.
As a community leader, Catti is a trustee on the governing board of Florida Gulf Coast University; chairman of the United Way; executive and finance committee member of the Lee Memorial Health System Foundation; board member of the Conservancy of Southwest Florida; board member of CCMI, a Fort Myers based soup kitchen; and capital campaign chairman for the Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida.
Voices for Kids of Southwest Florida is a non-profit agency supporting Florida’s 20th Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program-Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties. The Guardian ad Litem Program supports volunteers who advocate for abused, neglected and abandoned children in court, the child welfare system and the community. VFK’s mission is to ensure every abused, neglected, and abandoned child in Southwest Florida has a Guardian ad Litem volunteer (GAL) and every GAL has access to financial assistance and resources available for meeting the child’s health, educational and social needs, not provided by any other source.
